Q1: Is the silicone on the tongs soft or a hard plastic type of coating?
A1: It is a semi-soft coating. Firm enough to grip whatever you are picking up but soft enough so they do not scratch non-stick cookware surfaces.

Q2: Are these slippery? Is anything hard to grip and hold with them?
A2: They are not slippery at all. The strips on the arms of the tongs is with a non-slip design, there is no problem for daily food. If you need to grip huge pieces of food, maybe you need a bigger tongs to deal with.

Q3: What should I do if the tongs are damaged when received?
