【What is Sashiko】
"Sashiko" is embroidery, making lines on indigo cloth with white thread and it has been practiced in Japan since ancient times.
This simple and beautiful Sashiko was invented in lives of commoners.
Sashiko was born around the beginning of the 16th century. Its origin is not clarified, as embroideries with the idea of Sashiko are seen all over Japan, but Sashiko in Tohoku region are particularly famous.
