How does photochromic sunglasses work?
The lens of photochromic sunglasses contain some silver chloride which can be decomposed into silver atoms and chlorine atoms under the light of short-wave.
The chlorine atom is colorless and the silver atom is colored. The stronger the sun, the more silver atoms are separated and the darker the color of the lens. The weaker the sun, the less silver atoms are separated and the lighter the lens.
