The gallery hanging system by Picture Hang Solutions is the ideal hardware for any picture rail molding. Our molding hooks are designed to fit snugly against the S-curve profile of traditional picture rail molding which is sometimes called "ogee" or "OG" molding. The zinc plated silver finish on the picture rail hook gives it a modern contemporary or industrial feel. The silver picture rail hooks and wire look excellent with black and white photography. The half inch wide molding hook is made of steel and zinc plated. The stainless steel wire cable has a loop that slips over the molding hook and hangs a full 72 inches long to give you the plenty of length if you have high ceilings or want to display further down the wall. If the cord is too long then you can roll it up and secure it behind the lowest picture. Picture rail molding was popular in older homes and many times the molding has been painted several times. We have tested these picture moulding hooks on a variety of mouldings covered in paint and also on newer mouldings with no paint to make sure they work. The picture hook profile fits the majority of mouldings and can be slightly adjusted against the wood to fit. When hanging small art or pictures, you can use one picture rail hook and cable. If your artwork is larger in size or heavier, we suggest using two hooks on the moulding and running your wire or cord from each hook to your artwork which will also help your artwork hang level.
