Highly Absorbent Cooling Perineal Pads for New Moms
Many refer to cold therapy after birth as postpartum ice or perineal icepack pads treatment, but this is not correct as using ice postpartum can be harmful. Actual ice, ice peripads, or frozen ice packs can damage the tender tissues of the perineum especially after the trauma of birth, tearing, and/or an episiotomy. Post delivery, as part of your postnatal care, you want to use perineal cold pads that are cold but not frozen, that provide postpartum cooling without freezing and damaging your skin and delaying your postpartum recovery.
Your postpartum supplies should include enough postpartum perineal pads in your postpartum kit to ensure you can apply the vaginal cooling pads for pelvic, butt, and vaginal swelling regularly for 36 to 48 hours after birth. Each perenial compress in your postpartum set is single use, and should be discarded after it is used. The post pregnancy pad should be applied for 20 minutes at a time, allowing at least 20 minutes between applications.
Post Partum, these single use OB pads are easier for the patient and the nurse and are faster to apply than pads that require special postpartum panties.
New mothers will get cooling relief with these Cold Pack OB pads. These peri packs can be changed less frequently as they are highly absorbent. The perineal cooling pads have an adhesive strip to keep them securely in place.
